Big Breakfast at La Bodega

A surprise breakfast is the best way to wake up in a Sunday morning, especially when I have to spend five hours in college for revision classes on European Union Law. Bf and I were a little late than planned but it did not deter us from heading for breakfast in the heart of KL (near college) although I was going to be late for class (Utmost apologies to my EU lecturer who seemed to have given up hope for us to be punctual for once).

It was meant to be a secret location. I was slightly taken aback when Bf drove into Pavilion car park. He lead me into outdoor boulevard and took a sudden halt in front of this Spanish restaurant.

It was a great place to begin the day. Service from the waiters were quick and attentive. The feeling of being in a quiet street while hearing the distant bustling roads seemed to have teleported me instantly to London (minus the cold, dry weather). It shook away the sleepiness and drowsiness of waking up early in the morning and installed a stress-free mood right away.

We picked an outdoor table so we could enjoy the morning better

As soon as we were comfortably seated, the waiter provided us with the menu. La Bodega is famous for their Tapas but would have to be for another day because we were there for breakfast. Bf recommended the "BIG" breakfast and we decided to have scrambled eggs and fried eggs to go with it.

I was interested in their English breakfast as well

A detailed description of what we are going to have

Mocha (Bf ordered it because I told him I couldn't choose between a mocha and a hot chocolate)

My Hot Chocolate (woot!)

Ahhhh...the lovely coco twirled and mixed with the foam *drool*

It didn't take too long for the food to arrive (maybe because I was cam whoring all the while) and the breakfast platter was definitely mouth watering :q

Bf's platter with scrambled eggs

Mine with fried eggs (dua mata kerbau!)

After tearing the egg white away (I'm allergic to it)
Clockwise from left: egg yolk, grilled tomato, crisp beef bacon, sauteed mushrooms (grilled), grilled chicken sausages, baked beans and home-made toast.

The food was absolutely fantastic! Bf and I loved the grilled button mushrooms so much, it's like no other mushrooms I've ever tasted before! No comparison. The sausages were fresh and juicy. The entire "BIG" breakfast together was one great breakfast and the satisfaction of beginning the day with such delicious breakfast brings so much pleasure to make it a lovely weekend.

The other thing I'd love to recommend is the Hot Chocolate. I am a big fan of hot chocolate. I love my hot chocolate smooth, thick, not too milky and not too sweet. And La Bodega has successfully served me the hot chocolate that I want. Must try.

Price: RM 71.30 (include tax)
Yes, it's bloody expensive but it's La Bodega damn it.

The receipt to prove I'm not joking about the price

Bf said the price was worth paying. I say he's right.

ps: My deepest gratitude to Bf who spends so much to make it a great day for me. I appreciate it very much.
