Family Day At Kenko

May 2 was my stepmum's (Ah Yi) birthday and I really wanted to do something special for her, something that isn't another meal at a restaurant. Immediately, I thought of Kenko fish spa which I visited couple of months ago.

The special day finally arrived. My parents have never visited Pavilion and all I told them was to meet up there. They were awed by the grand, classy structure and interior of Pavilion. Bf and I led them up to the 5th floor and to Kenko. The look of surprise and excitement that shone of their faces I can still vividly recall till today. I knew I've made the right choice.

After the nitty gritty procedures (wash feet, pay), while dad was still changing into the shorts provided, I led Ah Yi to the pool of fishes. It was quite crowded and the only vacant place was the area facing the entrance. So while we enjoyed the fish-nibbling sensation, we also provided a free show to the potential customers :D

The water was warm and comfortable. Ah Yi was laughing her heart out when the fishes got close because their nibbles were very very ticklish! She kept shaking them away. When dad came, he was so brave and dipped his leg in the pool without any hesitation. I witnessed the love of my parents that they have as Ah Yi was a lot more tolerant after my dad came and console her (or maybe it's just that most of the fishes went for his smelly feet instead :p).

The first 5 minutes were the hardest to bear. The warm water makes your legs relax but at the same time heightens the ticklish sensation as the fish sucked on your feet and between your toes. Laughter is the best medicine. After that laugh out loud period, all worries and unhappiness miraculously disappeared!

I remember Ah Yi saying she should have brought a book to read while enjoying the "feeding", but honestly I don't think it's necessary. It's really a different experience to go for the Fish Spa with your family members and trust me, I know because I've been for both with Bf only and with my family. It's even better than any other eating gatherings my extended family organise during festivals because everybody will be in a good and light hearted mood while enjoying each others' company.

30 minutes was a relatively short time and time flies even faster when you're enjoying precious moments with your loved ones. I hope I'll be able to bring more family members and friends to enjoy this special spa very very soon.

ps: Mei mei, you're next! :D

I'm waiting for you!

Pps: Check out Nicolekiss' post on the new fish spa!

[Edit: Parents' pic had to be taken down because dad said it's dangerous. Whoever gave him that thought and showed him the pic, mark my words, karma will look for you! *angry*]

Narnia: Prince Caspian

First of all, I must declare myself as a fairytale maniac. I simply love fantasies! So you can expect how this review is going to be :) Those who don't like fantasies, don't say I didn't warn you.

I remember given "The Magician's Nephew" as a birthday present when I was 9 years old. Ever since I read that book, I was so in love with Narnia. I remember looking everywhere for the rest of the books but I never found them...till the movie came. Back then, I thought nobody knows what is Narnia and I had no one to share it with, until I found two friends in church, Pui Yi and Pui May, who lend me the book.

I was so sad after reading the book, knowing that the magic has ended. When I saw the trailer couple of months ago, I was so excited to watch it! Once again, I can indulge myself in the magical fantasy world.

Finding themselves in the ruins of their happiest memories

Narnia...the story is quite simple. The Kings and Queens went back to Narnia and found themselves in the ruins of their own castle. Apparently, Narnia was attacked not long after they left and the Narnians had to hide in the forest. Nymphs and Trees disappeared. Animals stopped talking and turned wild. Narnia was not the Narnia we used to know. The 4 royalties were once again called back because they need to bring peace to the land of Narnia, together with Prince Caspian.

King Edward, High King Peter, Prince Caspian, Queen Susan
MIA: Queen Lucy (she was sent to call for Aslan)

*Spoiler ahead*
One thing sad is that Queen Susan and Prince Caspian were attracted to each other, but Queen Susan had to leave and never go back to Narnia anymore. :((((((((((

Movies can best put our imaginations into real pictures. Once you watch it, allow yourself to indulge into the world of Narnia.

KL Trip Next Stop: Twin Towers

After filling up our empty stomach, it's time to do some exercise. Bf got us tickets to the Twin Towers' skybridge (thank you!). We parked our car at the very far end of KLCC park and walked. Because the PC Fair was held on that day, there was quite a large crowd at the park.

It was a bright sunny day, Margit had a hat and I regretted not bring mine. The weather was scathingly hot and we were in a hurry to reach the bridge by 2pm. It was then that I realised the park was huge~.

All girls :)

Managed to cam whore with the unusual clock (actually it's correct because it's supposed to be read the other way round)

We arrived at the bridge in the park where one can get the best picture with Twin Towers

Alas, we escaped the sun and stepped into the welcoming cool air of the mall. Now Margit understands why Malaysians enjoy spending their weekends and holidays shopping. We headed to the counter, passing by Petronas Philharmonic Orchestra Theater, which was fascinating for Margit because she's a Music Therapist. :D

Before taking the elevator up to the bridge, we were brought to a mini theater where a short clip introducing the Petronas Towers was played. It was a boring 3D clip - completely unchanged for years.

Cool leh~

So up the tower we went to the 41st floor where the bridge is located. Apparently, the bridge is held by large hydraulic shafts which allows it to move if the wind is strong. But it's safe, don't worry. We were only allowed to hang around there for about 15 minutes. The view was quite decent because it's a clear view that day. No haze.

What's there to do except...cam whore!

More, more!

On our way back to the mall, we were lead to a room with videos and games presenting interesting facts about Twin Towers and other towers in the world. But the information was not quite up to date. One interesting thing was:

Every 5 minutes or so, there will be a reenactment of a lightning strike on the Twin Towers. We waited patiently and watched the ridiculous video of a hypothetical storm taking place and finally...

Behold!

Cost: RM0 for going up the bridge + RM4 for parking.
